Neil Samlall, known professionally as Neillusion, is a multi-genre electronic artist & producer. His debut single, ‘Renegades’ featuring. Szymore, exceeded expectations on digital platforms in 2017.

Now based in Toronto, Canada, Neilusion started remixing at the age of 14 and became actively involved in both the Dancehall and Soca remix scenes. He gained a profound passion for House Music around the same time he turned 16, falling in love with sub-genres such as Dutch House and Moombahton. Dutch House continues to have a strong influence on his music today. Although his skills for House Music has not yet developed, he transitioned into the local hip-hop/rap music scene, working with local artists and producers.

After a few years of hiatus, he rebranded himself as Neillusion in 2016, retiring his previous stage name. As Neillusion, he plans to focus more on his passion for electronic music, while experimenting with fusion-genres with other styles. Neillusion continues to be involved in a variety of international genres such as Dancehall, Afrobeat, Kuduro, Afrotrap, & Reggaeton

An excerpt from Neillusion’s interview with HigherLevel360 Magazine:

“Music is art, and some art can be envisioned prior to conception, and some has to occur naturally. I believe in the natural process of creating music – sort of “go with the flow.” A majority of my projects turn out completely different from what I intended when I started them. This results in songs falling in different categories, such as House Music, Hip Hop, Moombahton, Dancehall, and even Afrobeat. I have a passion for a wide variety of music, and cannot commit to just one genre. Therefore, I just choose to label myself as an ‘Electronic musician,’ which is a fairly broad category.” - Neillusion

2018 kicked off with the release of Neillusion’s first Afrobeat/Dancehall track, following his plans to become more involved with production in the Nigerian music scene. ‘One Second’ featuring the vocal talents of Samm Chizi, and Neillusion’s outstanding production, received positive criticism globally from both producers and artists. The small success of the song, along with his passion for the genre, motivated him into planning future collaborations Nigerian artists.

There’s a lot to expect from Neillusion this year. Releases are already anticipated as he strengthens musical relationships with talented artists in the UK, Caribbean, Nigeria, Angola, Mauritius, and Brazil. 2018 is destined to be a huge year!
